CALDERON PEREZ, Lester  and  GARCIA CHIRINO, Rosalina. The Management of Tai Chi Community Work in Elderly People. Varona [online]. 2019, n.69  Epub Dec 01, 2019. ISSN 1992-8238.

Increasing life quality of elderly people is a must for the Cuban society at present. An example of the aforementioned is using Tai Chi through health strategies that allow minimizing bad effects of aging in people.

The social representations about aging, so as the physical and psychic changes aging people face, makes elderly sometimes feel away from the rest of the society. Thus, uselessness feelings appear. The continuing practice of Tai Chi in elderly people results in a healthy process that eases the work for self-development, potentialities, self-valuation, self-awareness, and everything related to knowledge and affective spheres; which allows wellbeing to elderly people, a first-demand need at present.

This research is about the management of community work and its effectiveness for the development of Tai Chi, as an alternative to improve life quality in elderly people. Thus, the object of study is Community work management.

Keywords : Management; community work; Tai Chi; elderly people.
