Abstract

TORRIENTE HERRERA, Neivis; ZURITA CRUZ, Caridad Rosario  and  SANCHEZ SAVIGNON, Marianne. Special educational attention from neurological rehabilitation to infants with dystonia. Varona [online]. 2024, n.79  Epub Mar 30, 2024. ISSN 1992-8238.

Special educational attention from neurological rehabilitation to infants with dystonia, from an integrating perspective, reveals in its conception the evolution of pedagogical and clinical concepts, considering the role of the special educator in the formation of personality. It points out the challenges and perspectives in favor of the integral development of these infants in the transformations of the current contexts, due to the educational actions carried out, based on the theoretical systematization of the present neurological pathology and the use of the experiential method of the authors from the accumulated experience in the subject and in the care of infants with this neurological diagnosis. The objective was to address the importance of stimulation for the development of the child with dystonia, and to know the positive influence it exerts on them. The benefits for biological, psychological and social development that neurological rehabilitation provides as an expression of culture of diversity and social inclusion are addressed. To this end, a qualitative research, bibliographic review, and documentary design was applied and indicators were selected that enabled the selection of scientific articles related to the topic in the Scielo, mediagraphic, IMBIOMED and PubMed databases. Among the main findings that emerge from the systematization and analysis of the results, it was possible to demonstrate and it is concluded that an adequate early intervention and an appropriate therapeutic and educational approach can increase the quality of life of infants with dystonia.
