AMBRIORIS NUNEZ, Carlos and SANCHEZ FRANCO, María de los Ángeles. Profile of the Dominican music education teacher focused on information and communication technology. Varona [online]. 2024, n.79 Epub Jan 13, 2024. ISSN 1992-8238.
Musical education constitutes an essential component of personality formation, an aspect that must be promoted from an early age with sufficient contextualization that also promotes national culture and identity. The educator who guides musical aptitudes or promotes interests contributes to this to offer a basic cultural perspective in order to appreciate the performance of the performers and the wide range of musical compositions. In this sense, the article presented aims to reveal the demands of the profile of the music education teacher at the primary level in the Dominican Republic, with emphasis on the integration of Information and Communications Technologies to the process that models and directs. From a qualitative approach, the contributions of previous studies are systematized that highlight the importance of solid musical knowledge and pedagogical skills to integrate technological resources to improve the teaching-learning of music. As a result, the potential of the use of educational applications and software, online resources and participation in virtual communities of music teachers to enrich music education is recognized and the importance of its constant updating around new technologies is underlined.
