Abstract

SONHI-MANASSA, Manuel Fidel; POLANCO-ALMANZA, Ramón Gilberto; LEGRA-LOBAINA, Arístides Alejandro  and  NEVES-MARGARIDA, Domingos M. dos S.. Economic optimization of combined truck-elevator transportation in a deep open pit mine. Min. Geol. [online]. 2019, vol.35, n.3, pp. 300-310. ISSN 1993-8012.

The general principle for the combined use of trucks and elevators in deep open-pit kimberlite mines is described and a procedure is established to obtain among several models of trucks and elevators the best combination for efficient transportation in this mine if it is known in advance year of the beginning of the joint use of these technologies. An optimization problem is presented whose solution is the most economical combination of trucks and elevators in the best year of application of efficient combined transport in this mining. A exhustive four-level procedure is described to solve this maximum problem.

Keywords : optimal combined transport; combined mining transport; elevators; trucks; deep open pit mining.
