Abstract

LOPEZ HUNG, Eduardo  and  PEREZ RODRIGUEZ, Bolívar Alejandro. The mathematical-computer applications as a need that cannot be postponed for the organizational management in Cuban public health. Infodir [online]. 2021, n.34  Epub Apr 01, 2021. ISSN 1996-3521.

Introduction:

The theoretical-conceptual system of organizational management constitutes a network of multidisciplinary knowledge, among which the mathematical, computer, and computer sciences stand out. Despite the contribution of these sciences to its theoretical body, their methodological and praxeological treatment in the field of health administration is still insufficient.

Objective:

To argue the need of applying mathematical-computational techniques and tools in the area of organizational management in Cuban public health sector.

Development:

As theoretical methods, analysis and synthesis, historical-logical, hermeneutic-dialectic, and holistic-dialectic were used; and as empirical methods, scientific observation and documentary review. Besides, it was carried out a distance correlation analysis through SPSS; as well as the analysis of centrality of the relationship network between the variables selected for the study, with the tool NetDraw of the software UCINET. It was determined that the applications of these sciences are mainly framed in teaching and medical assistance.

Conclusions:

There is evidence that corroborates the importance of mathematical-computational techniques in this context. However, it is evident the urgent need to continue betting on the conscious, rational and intentional introduction of these branches in the contemporary administration in Cuban public health, mainly of less used techniques, such as optimization, data mining and text mining, neuronal networks, and metaheuristics.
