On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization declares as a public health emergency, the Coronavirus disease 2019, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The objective of this article is to know the role of Cuban Family Medicine from the first level of care in the confrontation with COVID-19. There was a viability of 3-72 hours on inert surfaces, an incubation period of 5.1 (95% CI: 4.5-5.8) days, 97.5% had symptoms in the first 11.5 (95% CI) %: 8.2-5.6) days of infection; Most organizations support surveillance periods of at least 14 days for exposed cases, even if they are asymptomatic. The first cases began to appear on December 12, 2019, in the province of Hubei (Wuhan), People's Republic of China. From that moment on, a whole movement began to unfold by the WHO, due to the high infectivity of this virus, due to the spread to other latitudes and declares COVID-19 as a pandemic.
