Abstract
SANCHEZ IZNAGA, Ángel Lázaro; HERRERA SUAREZ, Miguel; RECAREY MORFA, Carlos Alberto and IGLESIAS CORONEL, Ciro. Theoretical basis for wear simulation of tillage tools by means of Distinct Elements Method (DEM). Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2014, vol.23, n.2, pp. 81-88. ISSN 2071-0054.
The theoretical bases are established for the modelling of tillage tool wear by means of the Distinct Elements Method. These bases include the definition of the microstructural contact models between soil particles and between the tillage tool surface and soil particles, also, as novel element was included the effect of the tool-soil adhesion. Finally the effect of the temperature was analysed in the wear and the equations for the determination of the wear are formulated by adapting the Archard´s law. The results allow establishing a distinct elements model for the wear simulation of tillage tool, showing the necessity to count as primary dates the microstructural and macrostructural parameters that define the mechanical response of the soil during soil tillage.
