Abstract

PEREZ REYES, Rigoberto Antonio et al. An Approach to the Simulation of Wear by Numerical Methods. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2019, vol.28, n.4  Epub Dec 01, 2019. ISSN 2071-0054.

Agricultural machinery has an enemy that threatens its durability and conservation: wear. The wear generates considerable losses of materials, resources and time, with the consequent reduction of the production, leads to the loss of a large quantity of means for its repair, as well as in the elaboration or acquisition of new elements. In this work, an approach towear simulation by numerical methods is made, specifically, the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the Discrete Elements Method (DEM), approaching, in a general way, the benefits of both methods in the analysis of the physical phenomenon, as well as their combination to obtain a closer approximation to the study of contact between bodies.

Keywords : ABAQUS; FEM; DEM; wear.
