The university is a social institution that arose from the conditions, possibilities and needs that society generated, in order to preserve, develop and promote culture through the training of professionals. Currently, is a complex entity, because although every university has a common work object, knowledge, they vary in the way they act on it (generation, dissemination, use) and with respect to the recipients of the results of their activities. In this regard, this research demonstrates the importance of adequate knowledge management in universities, and illustrates how to audit it.
