Abstract

MARTIN BARROSO, Ariel Manuel; LEYVA FERREIRO, Grisell  and  CANTERO GARCIA, Mariela Francisca. The Economic Sustainability of Renewable Investment in Cuba. Past, Present and Future Perspectives from the National Regulatory Framework. Cofin [online]. 2021, vol.15, n.1  Epub Jan 01, 2021. ISSN 2073-6061.

This research analyzes how Cuban regulations on the investment process take into account the study of economic sustainability within the evaluation process, mainly in the renewable sector. For this purpose, it is carried out a documentary review of the historical evolution of these regulations, with the combination of theoretical-methodological elements present in them and the critical positions of the authors, in order to locate the fundamental deficiencies. The results and conclusions are located in the context of an insufficient presence of economic sustainability in the evaluation of the investment, which limits a correct understanding of the maintenance of long-term economic benefits.

Keywords : Cuba; renewable energy; investment; sustainability..
