Abstract

BATISTA ROJAS, Osvaldo. Science and technology, essential elements for the training of health human resources in Barrio Adentro. Rev EDUMECENTRO [online]. 2013, vol.5, n.2, pp. 224-235. ISSN 2077-2874.

One feature of the present moment is the indissoluble connection, interaction and mutual accommodation of science and society. Science is essential for social development and is assuming an increasingly mass character. Different forms of higher and postgraduate medical education in Venezuela have benefited from the new sciences of information technology. Based on a literature review and the experiences of the authors, some views are expressed on the need to combine harmoniously science and technology in the different Bolivarian programs that form Barrio Adentro Mission in Venezuela. This requires the impact of the results achieved by scientific and technological research in this context, which not only positively influence these programs, but also promote the training of health professionals with a performance consistent with the development of science and technology.

Keywords : science; technology; community; human resources; medical training program.
