Abstract

BLANCO BALBEITO, Nubia; HERRERA SANTANA, Diana; BETANCOURT ROQUE, Yovana  and  PAZ TRETO, Maylen. Researching Methodology for teaching doctors linked to the in-service training. EDUMECENTRO [online]. 2016, vol.8, n.2, pp. 63-78. ISSN 2077-2874.

Background: the preparation of the teaching staffs of the medical sciences universities in researching methodology is an aspect that requires special attention. Objective: to design a proposal of upgrading course for professors on researching methodology for teaching doctors that are linked to the in-service training. Methods: it was carried out a development investigation in "Lidia Doce Sánchez" Medical Sciences University Site during the academic year 2014-2015, the sample comprised 41 professors. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction and modeling; empiric methods: the documental analysis, the observation guide to the in-service training activities and the survey in interview form to key informants, 21 experts were also selected for the valuation of the proposal. Results: the researching abilities to develop in the students are ignored by most of the professors and they have methodological deficiencies in the elaboration of teaching tasks that allow the development of these abilities in the in-service training. The key informants expressed that they don't take advantage of the potentialities of the in-service training and they propose the professor's upgrading as a form to attenuate those deficiencies. Conclusions: the diagnosis evidenced the deficiencies in the preparation of the professors who work in the in-service training, an upgrading course for professors on Researching Methodology was designed that comprised twelve topics, distributed in the different upgrading teaching forms. The experts agreed in the adequacy of all the aspects of the proposal.
