Abstract

DIAZ HERNANDEZ, Bárbara  and  ALVAREZ PEREZ, Adrián. Information and knowledge society: its incidence upon the informational advance in the medical sciences. EDUMECENTRO [online]. 2016, vol.8, n.2, pp. 179-193. ISSN 2077-2874.

A bibliographic review was carried out about topics related to the Information and knowledge society. The advances with the emerging of Infomed, the Cuban health network, the role of the acquisition and introduction of the information and communication technologies, training, use and its application by the health professionals were reflected. Even insufficiently, the trends that indicate its usage are shown in the issues of electronic journals. According to the analisis cariesd out, the authors considered that the informational literacy is still a concern in undergraduate as well as in postgraduate students in the medical sciences, which not only limit the approach of the professionals to the knowledge society, but also shorten its development in the current information era.
