Background: the development of clinical reasoning skills in Dentistry students is a necessity, that´s why it is an urgent need a methodology that guides the diagnostic discussion with an integrating approach. Objective: to design methodological actions for the development of clinical reasoning skills in students, during the diagnostic discussion, through the subject Comprehensive Cares to People in the 5th year of Dentistry. Methods: a cross-sectional descriptive research was carried out at Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences from January 2015 to April 2016. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction, and among the empirical ones: documentary analysis, observation and questionnaires to students and teachers. Results: the lack of a methodology that guides the development of the diagnostic discussion with an integrating approach was verified, and differences in its orientation and realization were observed, which affects the quality of the teaching-learning process, both in students and teachers, that´s why methodological actions were designed, which were valued by criteria of specialists. Conclusions: the actions are aimed at unifying criteria for the development of the diagnostic discussion with an integrating approach; the specialists rated them as adequate for their relevance, usefulness, feasibility of application and novelty.
