Abstract

Objective:
The persistence of difficulties in the didactic treatment of the writing skills in English as a Foreign Language Education is expressed in students´ deficiencies to construct written texts in this language. The objective of the paper herein presented is, precisely, to suggest an approach to turn the process of writing in English into an integrating one to develop English language students´ communicative competence from the discipline Integrated English Practice.
Methods:
For the development of this work, a systematization of the pedagogical practice was held, together with a deep revision of documents.
Result:
The main finding and contribution of the study is the description of process-product approach to writing oriented to action.
Conclusion:
The process-product approach combines the procedural elements with the linguistic-communicative ones in order to achieve a coherent method both with the linguistic requirements and with the creative-communicative ones that characterize the communication in the written code.
