Abstract

Objective:

This article aims at devising a methodological alternative to train teachers for family education in topics related to junior high school students’ vocational guidance.

Methods:

The authoress rely on scientific research methods such as analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, historical-logical and modeling to construct a theoretical framework by studying the state of the art, interpreting the results of the diagnosis and devising a methodological alternative. Document review, experts’ assessment, observation, interviewing and surveys were also used.

Results:

The main finding is a methodological alternative that favor teachers’ development to contribute to junior high school vocational guidance through family education.

Conclusion:

The diagnostic study confirmed that though the need of family education related to junior high school vocational guidance is widely recognized, there are gaps in teachers’ knowledge and competencies.
