Abstract
CHOU RODRIGUEZ, Rogelio; MARTINEZ SANTOS, Kelvin Ernesto and RAMIREZ ROQUE, Raquel. WIND POWER AND WIND TURBINES: COMPARATIVE STUDY OF DIFFERENT VARIANTS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE MULTIPLIERS. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.4, pp. 120-127. ISSN 2218-3620.
In the present investigation the importance of the multiplier stages is highlighted, especially as the element that more breaks can suffer during the operation of the wind turbines. Most of the traditional multipliers use helical gears and this work was based mainly on replacing this type of gears with bi-helical gears, precisely because the latter guarantee to minimize the large axial loads that occur and with this to achieve that the failures in the bearings And the teeth of the gears are smaller. With the calculations made in the KISSsoft-KISSsys Mechanical Transmission Design Program, it is demonstrated how the total volume of low and high speed stages can be reduced to more than 30% compared to traditional multipliers.
