Autonomous work is protected and confiscation of property is prohibited in the Supreme Charter of Ecuador. The objective of this article was to determine the influence of the confiscation of goods on the variation of informal traders. Guayaquil, Ecuador; for which quantitative method was used through the technique of the sample survey of 383 informal traders working in the Bay of Guayaquil. The result was that the confiscation of goods by the Municipal Police affects informal commerce, because it did not minimize the number of workers who worked in the informal sector, nor did they order the sale on public roads, but increased the expenses of this group Social. In conclusion, the action of the Municipal Police to confiscate the goods of informal traders, did not cause them to leave this activity, even less that they transit the public road, only managed to demmejoren their economy by borrowing to buy again their tools work and merchandise, generating greater poverty and discontent of this social group and their families.
