Abstract

The objective of this article is to highlight the importance of the process of auto-evaluation with improving continuous purposes at Institutions of Higher Education as strategy of internal regulation, which contributes to quality assurance and increases the power of the institutional management. Its contents comes from an investigation that intends to design a carry-out model to the aforementioned end process at an Ecuadorian university institution. Working the principal theoretical-conceptual foundations suchlike this formative evaluation and the common elements and differences in relation with that with intentions of accreditation or of state control. Its purposes are highlighted, its characteristics and benefits, as well as some of the problems that limit its development and possible stock for its solution. As final reflection comes into question that it is necessary to reinforce the culture of auto knowledge and integrating the autoevaluation with improving continuous purposes to the system of institutional management.
