Abstract

The reader plays a relevant role in the comprehension and integration of knowledge in university students, which impacts on the results of learning and the renewal of new strategies of teaching to learn. That is why it is important to stimulate the love of reading, as a reference that allows the breadth and depth of knowledge, from which the design of tasks of authentic and integrating learning is built, with an ascending character in the complexity of the cognitive processes to activate, this conception stands in the scope of the Bachelor of Education Sciences of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH) in Mexico; where, through reading, information is transformed into knowledge, which is validated by UNESCO when it emphasizes the role of reading comprehension as an essential means to master other subjects and as one of the best instruments for formulating predictions about learning outcomes in the long term, where reading is placed as a priority area to focus efforts on improving the quality of education.
