Abstract

CZERNIKIER, Alejandro; ESTEBAN ITHURALDE, Raúl  and  PANAL, Macarena. Popular high schools of the popular movement la dignidad: Building spaces of territorial power. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2018, vol.10, n.4, pp. 162-172.  Epub Sep 02, 2018. ISSN 2218-3620.

The aim of our written work is to present our experience as a social and political organization in constructing popular high schools from the perspective of Popular Education. Our biggest challenge is to start building today the education we aspire for the future. Popular high schools emerge in response to a historical demand of subaltern and marginalized sectors from the formal education system because their school formats are expulsive to young people. The Popular Movement La Dignidad takes this demand to turn it into spaces for the building of popular power, trenches of dispute to the State and capital, modifying the existing relations of force, turning exclusion on a path of struggle, building an education for action towards social transformation.

Keywords : Popular Education; social movements; counter hegemony; popular power.
