The populational aging is a global phenomenon. The United Nations estimates that today they inhabit the world more than 890 million people of advanced age and that we will arrive to 2 thousand millions in the year 2050, it calculates that the population will overcome from 0 to 14 years, for the first time in the history. In the case of Cuba, the aging as demographic element, also brings their implications in the economic life of the country and other spheres. In Cienfuegos, this process could bear to risks, mainly, taking into account that the economically active population ages and the substitution with the new one is not visible in the next 15 years. The labor young force as reference is located in the non state sector of economy, question that provokes affectations in branches and sectors of strategic importance for the territory. The objective of the work is to meditate about the incidence of the populational aging in the socioeconomic context of the municipality of Cienfuegos. Also, it is carried out a proposal on how to assist this aged population that works in the different institutions.
