A retrospective investigation is carried out based on the background of the integral management of water resource contamination. The use of theoretical and empirical methods facilitates the fulfillment of the objective: Design and propose a set of actions for the integrated management of the pollution of the hydrographic basins in Cienfuegos. Methods of the theoretical and practical order, descriptive and inferential statistics are applied. As a main result, a guide of good operative practices was achieved that contributes to the protection of water quality and life of the population.
