ANGULO VERGARA, Martha Lucrecia; ARTEAGA VALDES, Eloy and CARMENATE BARRIOS, Osmany. The significance of the context for the formation and assimilation of mathematical concepts. Basic principles. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.5, pp. 33-41. Epub Dec 02, 2019. ISSN 2218-3620.
The formation and assimilation of mathematical concepts is the mathematics essential objective in any teaching level. In this work the importance of the context is analyzed in the formation and assimilation of the mathematical concepts. If it is considered that the motivation is a fundamental factor to stir up the interest towards the learning in the students, it is appropriate to build the concepts starting from problematic real family situations, related with the context where the student lives and is unwrapped. To learn a concept in different contexts where they are used offers bigger possibilities so that they can apply them to situations of the practical life.
Keywords : Formation of concepts; assimilation of concepts; mathematical concepts; context; problematic real situations.
