Abstract

This article offers a set of ideas resulting from the reflection on legal-citizenship training as a transversal axis of the university professional training, which is constituted in a theoretical- methodological budget that frames - within higher education - the purposes of the training where a gradual appropriation of ethical codes are expected and that favour the development of a legal-citizen culture, and in it, they occupy a transcendental place, a conception of the world and inspired by high theoretical principles that ennoble and enrich the human being, they make their lives more interesting and substantial and condition their legal-citizen perception of reality. The improvement of the Ecuadorian university requires taking into account the previous precepts, which are specified, in one way or another, in the different normative documents for these institutions, conceived by CES, where the importance and the need to develop in the Ecuadorian university students an attitude of autonomy, flexibility, originality, criticism and creativity in society. Precisely, our proposal endorses the purposes entrusted to the universities in this particular matter.
