Abstract

The permanent formation of university professors at Nariño Department capital, located in the south part of Colombia, next to the Ecuadorian border, requires to be fed from the critical reflection of the social responsibility that it entails, and that influences directly about the quality of the teaching-learning processes of formation taken in to account in this context and in the current circumstances. This professor, in a commendable challenge, is the one in charge of assuming the transformations in their teaching routines and the structure of institutions, tending to elevate the quality of the service, because of public policies about this topic and the budget dedicated to this end are fruit of the incoherence of the successive governments. The present investigation in progress, seeks to add important elements which contribute to the improvement of the teaching acting, as a fundamental component of the educational improvement, approached from an adequate diagnosis of the characteristics of professors and students, in correlation with the requirements of the society in the Colombia’s present situation.
