Abstract

ERAZO MORETA, Orlando; SANTANA SORNOZA, Ángela R; VERA ALARCON, María J  and  OVIEDO BAYAS, Byron Wladimir. Monitoring of polluting gases in closed environments using wireless sensor networks. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2020, vol.12, n.3, pp. 116-122.  Epub June 02, 2020. ISSN 2218-3620.

People spend approximately 90% in closed environments, in which there may be contaminants that are a risk factor for their health. The purpose of this work is to design a monitoring system for polluting gases in closed environments for decision making by the head of household. A sensor network based on Arduino is proposed to capture the presence of pollutant gases, then send these data to the Blynk mobile app which allows you to send reports and alerts that help you take preventive actions. The results demonstrate a high percentage in the correct functionality of the prototype with real-time and accurate responses, being able to inform in a timely manner to perform preventive actions according to the level of severity of the case.
