Abstract
MAYON CAMPANA, Starlyn Rafael. Cross-border commercial basket and its contribution to the commercial dynamism of the Huaquillas canton in Ecuador. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2020, vol.12, n.4, pp. 140-146. Epub Aug 02, 2020. ISSN 2218-3620.
The trade, most representative sector of Huaquillas economy, had been affected by macroeconomics factors as American dollar appreciation and Peruvian currency devaluation in 2015-2016. That anomalous situation spawned the “cross border trade basket”, a commercial promotion politics for frontiers decided by the national government with the goal to revitalize their economies. The purpose of the inquiry was in to make a diagnosis about the reached results from the tax policy and verify the initial hypothesis that was “If there’s an increase in forgone revenue, there would have an increase in commercial dynamism”. Using inferential statistics, the hypothesis is checked only if the data are analyzed in the tax policy’s lifetime, but when the data are compared with the previous period, the dynamism becomes irrelevant.
