Abstract

One of the most recommended antibiotics in periodontal therapy is minocycline, which has pharmacological problems that limit its use; therefore, the development of controlled release systems has allowed its use. The objective of this investigation is to determine the grade of knowledge that professor at the Dental Care Unit, UNIANDES have about this therapy, for which the 28 teacher-tutors were surveyed, obtaining as results that most of the teachers surveyed present little or any knowledge about this antibiotic, its pharmaceutical forms and its use in periodontal therapy.
