Population growth and the era of consumerism have generated, worldwide, an increase in waste as part of man's anthropogenic activities. Among the functions that generate the greatest amount of waste is the sale of various food and grocery products. A pre-experimental investigation is carried out, supported by the pre and post test design, to determine the impact of the environmental program 'Good Practices' on the temporary disposal of solid waste in The Association of Small Merchants of Market 3 de October - Nuevo Chimbote. The sample size consisted of 36 merchants who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria; Applying a questionnaire for data collection, before and after the application of the environmental program, the statistical analysis to process the data was carried out with the SPSS v: 22 software, in two levels; Descriptive and analytical, a great difference was found in knowledge and practices in the merchants, obtaining a significance of α = 0.013 in the impact of the environmental program. Demonstrating that there is a positive impact of the ‘Good Practices’ program on the temporary disposal of the waste generated by the merchants of the investigated Market, having increased their level of knowledge.
