This work presents a bibliographic review on welding processes and their impact on the environment. The specificities of conventional welding methods and their environmental impact are described. A comparison is made with friction welding, which is more environmental friendly and offers better welded joints. The data presented here is based on the experts’ technological experience and that of the general users’ as well.
