Abstract
ALVAREZ ENRIQUEZ, Gandy Francisco. The science-technology-society approach in the management of human teaching talent. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.1, pp. 150-158. Epub Feb 02, 2021. ISSN 2218-3620.
The current conditions impose the need to delve deeply into the role of science and technology in integrating scientific knowledge from various angles and in a comprehensive manner; thus making it possible to better deal with complex phenomena of social reality, and endorsing the idea that the proper performance of human teaching talent is a basic aspect of human resource management in educational institutions. Given that human talent is an essential element in the development of organizations, valid management methods will be those that allow the maintenance of a well-trained teaching staff, capable of putting theory into practice, of developing research, and of connecting science and technology with the natural and social context of the university. The good performance of human teaching talent is a priority for putting actions in place to encourage permanence and positive results of the staff’s academic and research activities, as well as better relations with the society. The main objective of this work is to characterize the STS approach from the implementation of its core categories in order to understand the importance and challenges of human talent management in teaching at UNIANDES, Riobamba, Ecuador.
