PASTENE LABRIN, Federico Carlos. Written production evaluation of essay genre with counterargument of pedagogy students. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.2, pp. 67-74. Epub Apr 02, 2021. ISSN 2218-3620.
The article presents the results of an evaluation applied to pedagogy students of Bio Bio University, Chile, with the aim to determine the command in written production of an essay with counter arguments. It is a descriptive quantitative research with a transversal design that approached a group composed of 136 students, belonging to five pedagogy careers. The results show an acceptable performance in the production of an essay with a 60,13% of achievement of the total sample, where the indicator with highest domain is legibility and the lowest one is counter argument. Thus, it is evident that students coming from technical-professional high schools obtain a higher score than the graduated from humanist-scientific. No significant variations are present in the results considering sex variables, schools and communities. Based on detected weaknesses it is necessary to generate pedagogic projects with the aim to empower the communicative written ability as an academic transversal competence of future classroom teachers, where writing is a part of the teaching and learning process.
