Even when it is understood that there is a causal relationship between prospective strategic planning and academic management, in practice, the planning of the latter, in the Higher Public Technological Institutes of Santo Domingo de los Tsa'chilas, continues to be, in general, of the cases, traditional, as there is no methodology that makes practice sensitive and favors this process through prospective strategic planning. In this sense, a methodology based on a prospective strategic planning model oriented to academic management is deployed here. Both the model and the methodology resulting from an investigation developed by the authors of this work, from a mixed approach and with the use of methods and techniques of qualitative and quantitative research. The work also stands out for the theoretical disquisitions carried out around the concepts of prospective, strategic planning, prospective strategic planning and academic management.
