Abstract

BRAVO ACOSTA, Olga. Micro entrepreneurs in the fisherman's route, province of Guayas. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.2, pp. 375-382.  Epub Apr 02, 2021. ISSN 2218-3620.

Tourism is one of the sectors of the economy that has greater versatility and flexibility to adapt to the conditions of each territory, while better integrating the dimensions of rurality. The Fisherman's Route is a tourist corridor designed by the Provincial GAD, to foster the associativity of each canton or associated destination. To inquire about the socio demographic profile and perceptions about tourism of people who offer goods and / or services to the local tourism market, 416 surveys applied in the sector. In general, there is a predominance of micro entrepreneurial women, with secondary school completed and a family group of 1 to 6 people. The ventures are carried out in a formal or informal manner, have a majority duration of 4 to 10 years (established business), employ 1 to 10 workers and self-finance. The main services offered are restaurants, street food, drinks and souvenirs, shops and handicrafts. Among the most valued needs are advertising and business marketing along with credit access. It concludes in the requirement of a gender perspective for public policies to support entrepreneurship.
