AVILES CONTRERAS, Yenilen; CONTRERAS MOYA, Ana Margarita  and  NODARSE GONZALEZ, Norma Melitina. Environmental education through tasks for the assessment of readings in english language. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.6, pp. 344-355.  Epub Dec 10, 2021. ISSN 2218-3620.

The strategic projection of the Ministry of Higher Education (MES) advocates for an innovative university that contributes to progress, quality of life and sustainable economic-social development. The teaching of English in Cuban Higher Education has been immersed in constant transformations to achieve mastery of this language based on the training of future professionals; reading comprehension is currently a graduation requirement; which reveals the importance of harmonizing the English curricular strategy and that of environmental education. This study strengthens environmental education from the teaching and assessment of reading in English, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), through tasks that favor the changing from traditional forms of assessment to objective forms. Tools and methodological suggestions are offered to English Teachers to strengthen environmental education through the English language curricular strategy and the contents of the disciplines of the college careers. Tasks are prepared for the assessment of reading, using texts on environmental issues typical of the profession and specialty, contributing to the gradual application of the New Policy for the English language of the MES, which assumes the CEFR and the improvement of Environmental Education.
