Abstract
MOYA PADILLA, Nereyda Emelia. The social in innovation: contributions from the line of anthropological historical studies. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.6, pp. 371-380. Epub Dec 10, 2021. ISSN 2218-3620.
The line of Anthropological Historical Studies of the University of Cienfuegos, in the last ten years of work, achieves significant contributions to the understanding of social innovation. This article begins with the critical analysis of the conceptualization of social innovation, from the foundations of Science, Technology and Society Studies (CTS). From this notion, the contributions that anthropological historical studies make are visualized when generating innovative projects, creating new narratives that fill historiography gaps and using the ethnographic method that, when describing the community environment, creates a realistic and faithful image, which contributes to the production of transformations on a community scale that are significant for local development. It is also argued that the work of the university research line is based on Mode 3 of knowledge production in which research and intervention are closely articulated. For the preparation of the article, the content analysis methodology is used, in a sense that goes beyond the traditional way of understanding it as an object of study and focuses on understanding it as symbolic phenomena, which is adjusted to the areas of knowledge studied.
