Dental fluorosis constitutes a health problem throughout the world, affecting the aesthetics and function of affected patients. For this disease to appear, not only is the concentration of the chemical element above 1.5 mg / L important, but also that consumption coincides with the period of tooth formation from gestation to eight years of age, so It is critical that prevention programs are directed at pregnant women and mothers of children under the age indicated above. A study was carried out in pregnant women belonging to the Huachi Grande Health Center, in the city of Ambato, in the period from August to October 2019, with the aim of determining the level of knowledge about the prevention of dental fluorosis and implementing educational strategies. A sample of 50 individuals was chosen to whom a questionnaire with 8 closed questions was applied. The results showed a lack of knowledge of the issues related to dental fluorosis and its prevention from pregnancy, it was observed that only a fifth of pregnant women, approximately, have a minimum level of knowledge necessary to prevent the disease.
