Group cohesion is fundamental for understanding group dynamics. The sociometric technique has been used with relative success to study this process, but difficulties remain in the absence of systematized and validated indicators for the specific understanding. The objective of the study is to establish indicators to analyze the process of group cohesion through the sociometric technique. The sample consisted of 714 participants, distributed in 22 groups form the middle and high schools of Havana. The sociometric technique of direct nomination and unlimited elections was applied, as well as group sessions and natural observation of teaching spaces to analyze behavioral correlates. The results show the indicators organized in dimensions and types of measurements, as well as their guide for interpretation.

Keywords : group cohesion; sociometry; school groups; sociometric technique.
