Abstract

MEDINA GARCIA, Jeniffer; BELLO DAVILA, Zoe  and  ALFONSO LEON, Alina. Validation of the inventory of emotional competencies (ICEL) for Cuban workers. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.3, pp. 123-135.  Epub June 02, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

The article describes the validation of the Inventory of Emotional Competencies (ICEL), for Cuban workers based on Daniel Goleman's mixed model of Emotional Intelligence. The study was carried out in three stages: in the first, the content of the instrument was validated through the judgment of experts; in the second, the construct validation was determined through the factorial analysis of principal components; and in the third and final stage, the concurrent criterion validation of the ICEL was established with: the Reduced Subjective Well-being Scale (BS10), the Reduced Resilience Scale (CD-RISC10) and the job satisfaction variable of the Organizational Diagnostic Questionnaire .The results reveal that the ICEL has content, construct and criterion validity with the Reduced Scale of Subjective Well-being (BS10), the Reduced Scale of Resilience (CD-RISC10) and the variable satisfaction with the work of the CDO in addition to a high reliability (Cronbach's alpha = .941).

Keywords : Emotional intelligence; cubans workers; instrument; validation.
