CABANILLA GUERRA, Mara; ALVEAR CAGUANA, Danny A. and BRAVO ACOSTA, Olga M.. Influential factors in the success or failure of the succession process in family businesses. Case AC-activa S.A. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.3, pp. 217-225. Epub June 02, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.
In the family business world it is of vital importance to plan the succession process and all the aspects involved, in order to ensure the sustainability and future profitability of the firm. The company AC-Activa S.A. has been evolving rapidly, but without a good internal organization and successful succession planning, so the objective of the work is to analyze the factors influencing success or failure in the business management of the succession process. The research has a transversal non-experimental design, applying a survey questionnaire to 268 officials of family businesses, including employees and managers of the firm AC-Activa S.A. To develop the Family Business construct, the scheme of causal relationships provided by AMOS SPSS is used, which allows representing the relationships between the indicators and the influential dimensions of the variables. The results obtained from the Exploratory Factor Analysis allowed the construction of a structural model on the succession process of the family business in Guayaquil, which in turn led to the development of the main factors and actions necessary for a strategic plan for the company studied.
