Abstract
COLLAZOS PAUCAR, Edwin et al. Analysis of state policies in the fight against drug trafficking and socioeconomic outcomes in Peru 1990 - 2010. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.3, pp. 428-438. Epub June 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.
Drug trafficking is one of the issues that generates the greatest uncertainty and constitutes a source of risk for society, public institutions and national economies. The Peruvian State is striving to consolidate a balanced strategy, where, together with anti-drug interdiction, viable programs for the elimination of drug trafficking are strengthened. In this sense, the objective of this paper focuses on undertaking an analysis of State policies from 1990 to 2010 regarding the fight against drug trafficking and how this affected the socioeconomic aspect in the country, in order to determine the results obtained by the State from policies aimed at the fight against drug trafficking during the period. For this purpose, a specialized bibliographic review and analysis of state policies in the fight against drug trafficking and the socioeconomic results in Peru during the years 1990 - 2010 were carried out. The review made it possible to affirm that the Peruvian State failed in its obligation to confront the growing illicit drug trafficking and that its main institutions responsible for the various components of the National Anti-Drug Strategy did not obtain the expected results, with few exceptions.
