Abstract

TORRES BATISTA, Yordanis  and  RODRIGUEZ CORDOVA, Roberto Guillermo. Externalities produced in open pit mining in lateritic deposits and ways for their internalization. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.3, pp. 589-596.  Epub June 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

The process of identifying the externalities detected in lateritic deposits allows nickel companies to plan the necessary actions that contribute to the restoration of the ecosystem. Therefore, the objective of the article is to identify the externalities produced by open-pit mining and the economic consequences that they cause and the pathways for internalization. The foregoing will allow companies to incorporate the externalities detected in production costs, which will make it possible to objectify the preparation of the mining rehabilitation plan that allows a greater recovery of the affected ecosystem.

Keywords : Externalities; Internalization; Lateritic deposits.
