Abstract

DAVILA MORAN, Roberto Carlos; MARTIN-BOGDANOVICH, María Mini; FERRER MEJIA, Mercedes Lulilea  and  LOPEZ GOMEZ, Henri Emmanuel. Research skills and intellectual production in teachers of a Peruvian public university. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.4, pp. 495-504.  Epub Aug 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

The study was based on the analysis of research skills in teachers of a Peruvian public university and its impact on the development of intellectual production. The variables were investigative skills and intellectual production, from which the respective dimensions were defined. For investigative skills, the dimensions were defined: observe, describe, analyze, synthesize and interpret. In the case of intellectual production, the dimensions were: intellectual activity and researcher profile. The methodological scope was established considering that the study was basic, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design and transactional correlational level. The population was made up of 30 teachers from the administration career of a Peruvian public university. The instrument to collect the information was the questionnaire, built with 32 questions referring to the variables and dimensions, each question had 5 response options, using a Likert scale. The descriptive analysis reflected the absolute and relative frequencies of the variables and dimensions. The inferential analysis allowed to evaluate the normality of the data with the use of the Shapiro-Wilk test and the calculation of the existing correlation between the variables and dimensions, by means of the Spearman's Rho test.
