Abstract

BARBA AYALA, Jessy Verónica; GUZMAN TORRES, Cristian Eduardo; AROCA FAREZ, Adriana Elizabeth  and  FERNANDEZ ALVAREZ, Denis. Development of logical thinking through didactic games in elementary basic education. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.4, pp. 513-520.  Epub Aug 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

The development of logical thinking in students of the General Basic Education in educational units of the city of Ibarra, Ecuador, presents limitations from the results of the students' learning. The execution of a research project that used didactic strategies to develop logical thinking in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year schoolchildren through the use of didactic games was proposed. Theoretical and empirical methods such as Inductive-Deductive, Analytical-Synthetic and Modeling were used with a view to identifying theoretical constructs of the research object, the identification of indicators to measure the development of logical thinking and the selection and adaptation of didactic games. The group interview was used to exchange on the subject with the teachers and pedagogical tests were applied before and after the proposal was implemented. The results obtained allowed us to know the main limitations in the methodological order that teachers have to develop logical thinking. The implementation of the proposed strategy was evaluated as satisfactory, evidenced in the results of the tests. The study offers a viable alternative to develop logical thinking in schoolchildren from different subjects of the curriculum.
