The present research project was carried out in the Jesús el Buen Pastor association of the city of San Gabriel, province of Carchi, with the objective of determining the prevalence of frailty syndrome in older adults, for which the use of the Frail scale was implemented. A descriptive, correlational, action and field type qualitative-quantitative research was carried out; Within the theoretical methods, the historical-logical, inductive-deductive, analytical-synthetic, systemic method was used, as well as the empirical methods, such as scientific observation, and validation by obtaining results using study techniques, the survey, as a tool and questionnaire. It was obtained as results that 66% of the population suffers from frailty and 33% pre-frailty, giving viability to the project, the proposal that allowed the design of an educational and recreational plan that contributes to avoiding the appearance of the pathology or to beat the symptoms of those who suffer from it, avoiding the deterioration of the cognitive, physical and mental capacity of the elderly when carrying out their daily activities.
