Abstract
PAREDES TARAZONA, Mildred Teresa et al. Evidence of validity of the deco model of the admission test item in relation to the measurement of cognitive skills students entering 2019 in San Marcos University. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.4, pp. 647-653. Epub Aug 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.
The objective of the study is to determine the effectiveness of the admission test constructed with the DECO® Item Model through the evidence of "recurrent" validity with the evaluation of cognitive skills and abilities. Instrumental and descriptive correlational research in a probabilistic sample by cluster of the five academic areas of 115 students belonging to the first cycle of university studies of the total of enrolled students of the admission processes 2019 - I and 2019-II of the UNMSM. Cognitive skills were measured to the sample group with the PMA-R test and the G-R Factor with psychometric properties for the studied population. There is a positive correlation between the DECO® Item Model with the PMA-R and the G-R Factor at a 99% confidence level; the significant relationship between the DECO® Model with the PMA-R (rp=0.32; p=0.00; p<0.01) and with the G-R Factor (rp=0.31; p=0.00; p<0.01). It shows evidence of "recurrent" validity of the DECO® Model of the Item contrasted by cognitive skills in entering students in the 2019-I and 2019-II admission processes at UNMSM. Confirming that the DECO® Model has levels of reliability and relationship between the PMA-R with the Verbal Ability test according to academic areas and significant relationship between the PMA-R test and G-R Factor with the Mathematical Ability test according to academic areas.
