Research training processes have an impact on the scientific production of university teaching staff, as they configure trajectories and representations. In that understanding, he investigated his being a researcher and being a teacher and his links with scientific production, from the affirmation of skills and capacities that build his ethos to think and act from research. For this, 20 professors of the education career of an interdisciplinary faculty were interviewed in depth, then the information was processed through content analysis. The results show differentiated research training trajectories, which have different repercussions on scientific production; Likewise, they participate in various training processes and in varied and complementary scenarios that contribute to their research training; Among the predominant meanings around scientific production, publications in high-impact and collaborative journals prevail; and finally, they link their teaching with research, privileging scientific production over solving social problems.
