Abstract
CHECA CABRERA, Marco Antonio and VASQUEZ DIAZ, Rita Azucena. Quick response (Qr) technology to prevent the transmission of covid-19 through cash in public transportation in Ecuador. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.5, pp. 524-530. Epub Oct 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.
COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease, so much so that it has been shown that the virus remains alive for hours in money, both paper and metal, hence most people take precautions when receiving or delivering cash, either by using trays with alcohol or by cleaning their hands once the process of delivering or receiving it is done. The public transportation system has done the same during fare collection, but the system is not practical due to the inconvenience caused during high demand hours, hence the objective of this work is to use QR technology to avoid media contact between bus operators and passengers through cash during fare payment, through a prepaid system that uses the QR code implemented in the mobile devices of those involved. The analytical-synthetic method allowed to study the behavior of each element immersed in the proposed system to discover relationships and characteristics to implement it in the alternative solution. Contact was completely eliminated when using this new method of fare payment, benefiting citizens in general in the prevention of COVID-19 transmission, which produces the new coronavirus.
