Abstract

ALCIVAR FAJARDO, Orly David; GARCES SUAREZ, Emma Fernanda  and  GARCES SUAREZ, Elizabeth María. Interaction and participation in virtual learning environments: a comprehensive view from practice. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.6, pp. 256-265.  Epub Dec 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

Teaching and learning in virtual learning environments is considered a challenge that can be overcome to the extent that managers, teachers and students assume that, more than a technological problem, there are certain didactic requirements to meet. In this sense, the conceptions and practices of the university professors of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters and Educational Sciences of the University of Guayaquil, reveal the need for a change in the way in which this topic is being analyzed. From the analysis of research and the critical discussion with teachers, it is proposed what to do to bridge the gap between the current state and the theoretical/normative discourse in decisions in practice. The combination of qualitative methods is committed to the interpretation, explanation and assessment of this process, while it is proposed to turn this type of analysis into a catalyst for the development of new experiences in a virtual learning environment.
